PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor attachment structure capable of suppressing the adhesion of deposits to a gas sensor while ensuring responsiveness of the gas sensor.SOLUTION: Provided is a gas sensor attachment structure 1 for attaching a gas sensor 10 to an intake passage 6. An element cover 4 of the gas sensor 10 has a sidewall section 41 and a bottom wall section 42. A plurality of side surface holes 43 is formed in the sidewall section 41, and a bottom surface hole 44 is formed in the bottom wall section 42. The side surface holes 43 are disposed in a plurality of circumferential portions near a proximal end side with respect to a measurement electrode 21 of a sensor element 2. A shield plate 5 covering part of the element cover 4 and formed from a heat-resistant water-repellent resin is provided in a position adjacent to an outer peripheral side of the gas sensor 10 in an intake passage 6. The shield plate 5 is disposed to face the element cover 4 in an angle range at least from an upstream side to a direction orthogonal to an air flow direction A and has an opening part 50 on a downstream side when the shield plate 5 is viewed from an axial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
