The method involves introducing (a) a gaseous premix in a container i.e. gas cylinder, where the premix is formed of nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen (N2) containing an nitric oxide content less than 10 percent by volume so as to reach pressure less than 1 bar. Gaseous nitrogen is introduced (b) into the container containing the nitric oxide/nitrogen premix at the pressure so as to obtain final gaseous nitric oxide/nitrogen mix containing an nitric oxide content less than or equal to 1200 parts per million by volume and another pressure lying between the former pressure and 800 bar.
