Power transmitting fluids with improved materials compatibility

A power transmitting fluid comprises a major amount of a lubricating oil and a minor amount of an additive composition which comprises (a) a friction modifier of formula R1 C(=O) Z C(=O) R2, (b) an oil-soluble phosphorus compound, and (c) an ashless dispersant; where R1 and R2 are linear or branched (un)saturated hydrocarbyl groups having 8-20 carbon atoms (e.g. derived from oleic or stearic acids), and Z is a polyoxyalkylene segment or a polyoxyalkylated alkyl amine segment (e.g. derived from PEG). The friction modifiers provide the fluid with improved fluoroelastomer seal compatilbility and enhanced copper corrosion compatibility.
