PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating dryer which satisfies dry conditions of a wet coating film over an entire vehicle body, and to provide a coating dry method.SOLUTION: A topcoat dyer 1 includes a drying furnace body 10 and a hot air supply device 20. The topcoat dryer 1 places hot air generated by the hot air supply device 20 in contact with a vehicle body B to dry a coating film applied to an outer panel part and a narrow part N when the vehicle body B including the outer panel part and the narrow part N is transferred in the drying furnace body 10. The topcoat dyer 1 includes: a suction port 621 which opens oriented to the narrow part N; and a suction device 61 which suctions air in a range that the suction port 621 is oriented through the suction port 621.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
