Disclosed is the use of a compound in the manufacture of a medicament to control spread of Picornaviridae infection in a human, said compound selected from the compounds of Formulae I-IV. Also disclosed is a method of ameliorating the effects of Picornaviridae infection in a non-human vertebrate animal said method comprising administering to said animal a compound selected from the compounds of Formulae I-IV.
