In order for charge air (L) to be conducted with the lowest possible losses in pressure in a turbocharger (2) that comprises a blow-off valve (20), a flow-guiding element (28) in an inlet region (14) is designed such that neutral zones are formed at the flow openings (26). The flow openings (26) recirculate charge air (L) from the pressure side to the suction side when the blow-off valve (20) is opened. Said flow-guiding element (28) avoids vortices and therefore losses in pressure in the region of the flow openings (26).
