<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely grasp processing result of a job for which a user has requested to a peripheral device in a given period of time during or after the processing of the job. <P>SOLUTION: The peripheral device, as its feature, is constituted such that a CPU b01, according to the acceptance of a control command requesting for given job processing, extracts job identification information added by an external device from the control command requesting for job processing which temporarily generates management information on the job in a DISK b04 to record in the management information on the job, performs the job processing according to the control command requesting for the job processing, manages a series of processing statuses of the job processed during the start to end, generates log information on the job in the DISK b04 as the job processing completes, records the job identification information on and a processing result of the job in the log information, on the basis of the control command requesting for job management, retrieves the designated job identification information from the management information or the log information, acquires the processing status or the processing result of the job from the retrieved management information or the retrieved log information on the job, and sends back them to a job retrieval requesting source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
