PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful as a high-performance carbon dioxide gas fixing material capable of efficiently fixing carbon dioxide gas without requiring addition of a base because of possession of an electron donative group and high electron density. CONSTITUTION:An octaethyl porphinatoaluminum complex of the formula [X is CnH2+1 ((n) is natural number); Et is ethyl]. This compound is obtained by reacting octaethylporphyrin with an alkylaluminum such as triethylaluminum using preferably dichloromethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, etc., as a reaction solvent. The reaction, for example, can be carried out at room temperature under a nitrogen gas flow.
