The fixture contains a mechanical carrier arrangement for the lamp and an arrangement for connecting the lamp cable with the supply cable. A first unit (20) is mounted at or in the ceiling (21) or wall, and a second unit (26) is mounted at the lamp. Both units (20, 26) comprise corresponding connecting parts (24, 29/30) for a rigid fastening of both units with each other. The first unit comprises sockets (22) connected with the supply cable, and the second unit comprises corresponding plugs (27) connected with the lamp cable (28). The connecting parts are preferably formed as a bayonet socket.
