An apparatus and a method for processing advertisement data in a moving object are provided to receive position information of the moving object from a GPS satellite signal, decode advertisement data of a candidate advertisement channel as well as advertisement data of a present advertisement channel, and provide the pre-decoded advertisement data when the candidate advertisement channel is selected, thereby minimizing the advertisement changed time. An apparatus for processing advertisement data in a moving object comprises a GPS receiver(210), a control part(220), a candidate channel control part(230), a demultiplexer(250), an advertisement file storage part(240), a multimedia processor(260), and a display part(270). The GPS receiver receives position information of the moving object from a GPS satellite. The control part receives the position information of the moving object and controls the decoding and display operation with regard to the advertisement data of a present advertisement channel and a candidate advertisement channel of the moving object. The candidate channel control part controls the control part to determine the candidate advertisement channel. The demultiplexer selects the advertisement data of the present advertisement channel and the advertisement data which is set by the set standard of the candidate advertisement channel. The multimedia processor decodes the advertisement data of the present advertisement channel and the candidate advertisement channel when the candidate advertisement channel mode is activated, and decodes the advertisement data of the present advertisement channel when the candidate advertisement channel mode is non-activated.
