PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonwoven cloth having narrow pore diameter distribution, excellent texture and desired performance and provide a filter material having narrow pore diameter distribution, excellent texture and desired performance. SOLUTION: This nonwoven cloth is produced from an essentially non- fibrillated fiber having a fiber diameter of <20μm. The fiber contains ultrafine fibers having fiber diameter of <=4μm and bonded adhesive fibers having fiber diameter of >=8μm and <20μm and the maximum pore diameter of the nonwoven cloth is <=2 times the average flow pore diameter. The filter material of the present invention contains the above nonwoven cloth.
