PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the long-time operation of a grinding apparatus by air cooling effect. SOLUTION: Blade are rotated in the grooves formed between inner and outer peripheral projections along a circumferential direction at a high speed and air sucked from the center part of a lid flows out of radial outer discharge ports. Chaff is sucked in the space of a casing 15 along with air streams to be allowed to impinge against a rotary blade and a fixed blade to be cut and ground. The ground matter passes through radial outer perforated plates to impinge against the side surface 16 of the casing 15 or a barrier plate and coarse particles fall. Fine particles are discharged to the outside of a classifying case along with air streams and a fine powder is collected by a housing bag. Since the front surface of each of the blades have a surface area large than its cross section, a rotary disc, the rotary blade and the fixed blade are always cooled by increased air streams. Since cooling effect is high and inner temp. is lowered, the continuous operation of a chaff grinding apparatus can be performed.
