<p>Novel naphthol derivatives; and various azo compounds and metal complexes prepared by using the derivatives. Specifically, naphthol derivatives of the general formula [1] and salts thereof; mono-, bis-, and trisazo compounds prepared from the derivatives; and metal complexes containing the derivatives as the ligand: [1] wherein at least one of Y1 and Y2 is a group of the general formula [2], (wherein X1 is O-, -S-, or -NH-; and Z is an optionally substituted aromatic group or a heterocyclic group bearing a conjugated double bond).</p> |
