The system has a computer unit (1) connected to a visual output unit (3) and an input unit (2). User profiles are stored in a memory (4). At least some of the user profiles are displayed on the visual output unit. One of the profiles can be selected via the input unit (2), and system parameters of the electronic system are automatically set in accordance with the selected user profile.
