PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator car, in which a side plate can be connected without developing breaks or cracks on an end of the coated side plate. SOLUTION: In the elevator car in which a first side plate 2a and a second side plate 2b are connected with each other with an end 7a protruded to a back surface side of the first side plate 2a and bent and an end 7b protruded to a back surface side of the second side plate 2b and bent confronted, a first reinforcing and fastened member 8 is attached in the vicinity of the end 7a of the back surface of the first side plate 2a, a second reinforcing and fastened member 9 is attached in the vicinity of the end 7b of the back surface of the second side plate 2b in such a manner of confronting the first reinforcing and fastened member 8, and the first reinforcing and fastened member 8 and the second reinforcing and fastened member 9 are fastened by a bolt 4 and a nut 5 in a state where a joint 3 is inserted between the end 7a of the first side plate 2a and the end 7b of the second side plate 2b through a space 20.
