PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the handling speed of a sheet handling device which performs post-handling such as punching or punching and ring binder installation for the paper fed from a copying machine. SOLUTION: This sheet handling device comprises a control means for increasing the feeding speed of a conveying part when a sheet discharge completion sensor on the copying machine side receives a discharge completion signal by communicating with the copying machine on the previous stage. Since the feeding speed is changed earlier than conventional machines the conveying part of which is increased in speed after the rear end of a sheet is completely pulled into the sheet handing device, the distance between the sheet and the sheet next fed is increased. Since time allowance is produced for punching and others, the sheet handling device can be adapted to the copying machines with high handling speeds. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
