A cooling system for installing a portable ice link and an installation method thereof are provided to form an ice surface by using cooling mats formed with circulation type cooling holes for installing an ice link or remove the ice link in a short time. A cooling system for installing a portable ice link includes a cooling unit(110), injection/discharge pipes(120,130) connected to the cooling unit for injecting/discharging cooled brine to circulate the cooled brine, and cooling mats(140) secured on a bottom surface of an ice link to be adjacent to each other and having front ends connected to the injection/discharge pipes alternately and rear ends connected to each other for the circulation of the brine. The cooling mat has a bottom surface which is flat and has self elasticity to be curved freely. A plurality of semi-arc-shaped cooling protrusions(142) are formed lengthwise on a top surface of the mat integrally. The cooling protrusions are apart from each other in sequence and cooling holes are formed penetratingly in the cooling protrusions in the lengthwise direction. When connecting the injection/discharge pipes to the mat, front and rear ends of the mat are cut in the spaces between the cooling protrusions so as to bend the cooling protrusions independently and freely. The cooling holes are connected to nozzles(125) alternately, which are branched at outer peripheries of the injection/discharge pipes. Adjacent ones of the cooling protrusions are curved at ends thereof to face each other and cooling holes thereof are connected by connection valves(145), so that the brine circulates from the injection pipe to the discharge pipe through the mats. Ice pieces are laid on the mats to form an ice surface based on the ice pieces, wherein cooling water is supplied on the ice pieces to be frozen integrally.
