<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that switches between a continuous printing mode and a recording operation stopping mode, the apparatus being designed so as to stabilize image quality when shifting to the recording operation quiescent mode. <P>SOLUTION: The control section 33 of a printer 100 switches between the continuous printing mode and the recording operation stopping mode, in which a recording operation is stopped for a predetermined time period every time a recording operation corresponding to one recording medium finishes. If the print proportion of an image to be formed has a predetermined value or above or a concentration image in each image is larger than a predetermined size, the control section 33 switches to the recording operation stopping mode, and increases a development bias difference between a developing roller and an image carrier or a magnetic roller compared to the continuous printing mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
