FIELD: electrical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electrode used as an anode or cathode in the secondary storage battery. In compliance with this invention, the electrode, in contact with the electrolyte, contains a pair of conducting front and rear surfaces and incorporates and active material layer comprising the active material particles and arranged between the aforesaid surfaces. It also has a multiplicity of minor pores open to the aforesaid surfaces and communicating with the said active material layer.
