PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of strength by restricting length of a groove part formed in a binder. SOLUTION: Control means in a welting machine controls driving of a main shaft motor, a needle oscillation motor, a one needle stop mechanism, and a large presser foot mechanism to form reverse stitches p2 with one stitches P positioned downstream of the cloth feeding direction while forming two lines of stitches P and Q. It then forms forward stitches p2 with one stitches downstream in the cloth feeding direction over tips of the other stitches Q, and then forms reverse stitches q1 with the other stitches by disconnecting formation of the forward stitches for one stitches. Then forward stitches p3 and q2 respectively continuous with the forward stitches of one stitches and reverse stitches of the other stitches are formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
