PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel device and a game machine capable of achieving display of various symbols and preventing a game from becoming monotonous, etc. SOLUTION: In the game machine loaded with the reel device, through-holes 126 are formed on the outer peripheral surfaces of reels 12a, 12b and 12c, and the transparent pattern 127a of characters and pictures, etc., by a luminous pigment is printed and formed on a transparent sheet 127 closing the through-holes. At the time of a winning or the like for instance, through the transparent sheet stopped at the front, the image of a variable display device 128 such as a liquid crystal or a rotary beacon light inside the reel is displayed, also a black light 129 inside the reel is lighted and thus the transparent pattern of the transparent sheet is fluorescently displayed.
