<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument capable of setting suitable portamento time according to a performance aspect. <P>SOLUTION: When note-on information of a note B is input at time t2, it means legato performance, and therefore, a musical sound generated by a sound source 7 starts portamento and gradually changes from a pitch of a note A to the pitch of the note B. When note-off information of the note A is input at time t4, tilting of pitch change becomes large. That is, changing speed becomes large, and as a result, it reaches the pitch of the note B at time t3'. When the note-off information of the note A is input at t4' which is after the time t4, it is modified so that the tilting of the pitch change may become large in the same way.
