To provide system information of a cellular communication network, a cellular network node of the cellular communication network transmits the system information to a user equipment. The cellular network node causes the user equipment to relay the system information to the further user equipment.

determining whether the system information is to be relayed by a user equipment to a further user equipment; transmitting, by a cellular network node of the cellular communication network, the system information to the user equipment; and causing, by the cellular network node, the user equipment to relay the system information to the further user equipment, comprising:
transmitting, by the cellular network node, a forwarding request to the user equipment before the system information which is to be relayed is transmitted to the user equipment.
