SOCKET-AND-SPIGOT TYPE PIPE JOINT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a bad influence on the sealing performance of an elastic seal ring.SOLUTION: A socket-and-spigot type pipe joint is equipped with a joint body 10; a slip-off preventive member holding cylinder 12; a slip-off preventive member 14; a coil spring 16; and an elastic seal ring 18. A guiding cylinder 30 is projected out from one end of the joint body 10. The slip-off preventive member holding cylinder 12 covers an outer periphery of the guiding cylinder 30 so as to form a connection pipe entering cavity 50. The slip-off preventive holding cylinder 12 has a tapered surface 60. The tapered surface 60 is narrowed toward a projecting end side of the guiding cylinder 30. The coil spring 16 presses the slip-off member 14 on the tapered surface 60 of the slip-off preventive member holding cylinder 12. The elastic seal ring 18 is stuck to an inner peripheral surface of a connection pipe 100 when the connection pipe 100 enter the connection pipe entering cavity 50. The slip-off preventive member 14 has a cylindrical portion 70. The cylindrical portion 70 is narrowed by receiving force on an outer periphery when being pressed on the tapered surface 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
