The invention relates to a traveling unit, preferably in the form of a wheelchair, having a modular construction with a central support block (1), a use module (2), travel modules (3), and a drive unit. The use module (2) is secured to a central region of the support block (1), and a respective travel module (3) can be coupled to each of the opposing ends of the support block (1). One travel module (3) comprises at least one wheel (4) which can be rotated relative to the support block (1) and is provided so as to lie on an underlying surface as a running wheel (4'). The drive unit is provided for driving the travel module (6) and has a drive wheel (6) which can be coupled to at least one running wheel (4') of the travel module (3) without the use of a hub. |
