1. A master tag server having computer-executed instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors at the server, cause the master tag server to implement a method for using a master tag to monitor and control other tags on a webpage, the method comprising:
identifying a webpage hosted by a website; embedding a master tag within the identified webpage; receiving communications generated by the master tag at a master tag server; identifying, with the embedded master tag, from the received communications one or more characteristics of at least one other tag embedded within the webpage; and preventing the at least one other tag embedded within the webpage from executing.
