PURPOSE:To improve a C/N ratio and a reflectance by a method wherein a recording layer containing a cyanine dye of a specific composition and capable of recording information thereon by a laser is formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer containing a cyanine dye shown by a formula and capable of recording information thereon by a laser is formed on a substrate. In the formula, A and A' represent an atomic group for completing an aromatic ring which may have substituent; L is methine with may have substituent or a trivalent connection group produced by connecting 3, 5 or 7 methine groups which may have substituent by conjugated double bonding; R<1>, R<2>, R<11>, and R<12> represent hydrogen atom, alkyl which may have substituent, phenyl, aryl, alkoxy, or 5- or 6-member heterocyclic ring; R<3> and R<13> represent alkyl which may have substituent; X<n-> represents anion; (n) represents 1, 2, or 3':and (m) represents 1 or 0. When R<3> or R<13> has an anion-containing group as a substituent, (m) is 0. |
