PURPOSE:To obtain the above image forming device having safety and high reliability by mounting a detection means for detecting the connection failure of connectors and a display means for indicating the position of the connection failure in accordance with the output of the detection means. CONSTITUTION:If a connector 1 is disengaged, a communication with a system controller 30 is not available. Thus, an error cannot be indicated if detected by the system controller 30. Therefore, in this case, an indication/operation control part 31 detects an error and indicates it per se. The failures of connectors 2, 3 are judged by the system controller 30. With the failures of connectors 10, 11, the disengaged position is judged by a scanner control part 1, and this information is transmitted to the system controller 30. An error is issued from the system controller 30 to the indication/operation control part 31 to be indicated. The failures of connectors 5, 6 are judged by a writing system control part 84, and the information is transmitted to the system controller 30 through a printer control part 3.
