PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution, lighter the weight and reduced the cost by rotating a radiation fan with a driving motor of a carriage. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 1 has a belt securing means on its bottom, to which one side of drive belt 6 is pivotally mounted. The drive belt 6 is formed so that the carriage 1 moves freely over the full width of platen 4, and wound between a pulley 12 installed externally and a driving motor T. On the driving motor 7, a driving gear 8 is formed together with a drive belt 6. A drive transfer gear of a specified speed-reducing ratio is formed by a gear 9 installed in an opposed relation to engage the driving gear 8 to operate a radiation fan 10 of sirocco fan type having the gear 9 installed on the same shaft. The hot air in the printer housing is discharged through an exhaust port. During the printing operation in which the temperature in the printer housing rises, the radiation fan is rotated by the same driving motor along with the movement of the carriage to discharge hot air out of the housing. |
