METHOD FOR TREATING FIBER

PURPOSE:To provide a method for treating polyester or aramid fiber in which the friction coefficient of mutual fibers in braiding into a braid or a spiral form has been reduced; the sticking of scum to guides has been reduced; the operating efficiency in compounding thereof with rubber, etc., has been improved and the adhesion comparable to or better than that in a conventional method has been imparted. CONSTITUTION:The method for treating fiber is characterized by treating polyester or aramid fiber with a treating agent prepared by adding an aqueous dispersion of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) in an amount of 5-20wt.% based on the solid content of a resorcin-formalin-rubber latex(RFL) thereto in a method for treating the polyester or aramid fiber with the RFL.
