<p>An air conditioner (10) which includes an evaporator module (12) and a condenser module (K1). The evaporator and condenser modules are adapted to be mounted into a structural base pan (16) for supporting both modules when used as a room air conditioner. Refrigerant tubing and appropriate electrical wiring interconnect the units in such application. The evaporator module (12) and condenser module (14) may also be installed in a split air conditioner application wherein the condensing module (14) is located outdoors and the evaporator module (12) is mounted on an inside wall (636) of the room to be conditioned. The evaporator module (12) is adapted to be mounted in a reversed, top to bottom, orientation when used in the split application.</p> |
