PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct properly exposure in response to an exposure state of a digital image. SOLUTION: The image correction device 100 is provided with a highlight/ shadow calculation section 6 that calculates a value of a highlight part and a value of a shadow part of image data, an exposure correction amount decision table 9 that stores sets of average luminance of an image before and after exposure correction to decide the exposure correction amount of image data, and an exposure correction amount calculation section 8 that calculates an exposure correction amount by calculating average luminance before exposure correction of the image data and collating the average luminance with each value of the exposure correction amount decision table 9 based on the highlight value and the shadow value of the image data. The device discriminates excess exposure and deficient exposure based on the highlight value and the shadow value of the image data before correction and changes a table to be referenced to at exposure correction based on the discrimination result to attain proper exposure correction. |
