PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonoriented silicon steel sheet reduced in iron loss after finish annealing. SOLUTION: The nonoriented silicon steel sheet with low iron loss can be manufactured by applying hot rolling to a slab having a composition consisting of, by weight, <=0.005% C, 1.5-3.5% Si, 0.05-1.0% Mn, <=0.005% (including 0%) N, 0.1-1.0% Al, <=0.001% (including 0%) S, 0.03-0.15% P, and the balance essentially Fe, performing continuous hot rolled plate annealing of 1 to 5 min soaking time in an atmosphere of >=10% H2 concentration, applying acid pickling to the resultant plate, forming the plate into prescribed sheet thickness by applying cold rolling once or applying cold rolling two or more times while performing process annealing between cold rolling stages, and then carrying out finish annealing. Moreover, relations between soaking time at hot rolled plate annealing and magnetic properties (iron loss) are shown. |
