CRANE APPARATUS

A crane apparatus for suspending for transportation a suspended load through a length of wire rope from a body frame of portal construction, comprising first and second wire ropes for fixing the suspended load on right and left upper portions of the body frame, means for taking up the first and second wire ropes, means for paying out the first and second wire ropes, the both means being linked to each other, and means for winding the first and second wire ropes in opposite directions and in the same direction to take up and pay out the ropes. Further, the above means can be integrated together by using loop-system first and second wire ropes to move a running block relative to the means for taking up and paying out the ropes, or move the means themselves, arranging a driving unit horizontally or overhead, and adjusting the number of and positions of connection points or sheaves for the suspended load directly or through a hoisting accessory. Further, the above means can be provided in the form of a tapered drum by drawing the first and second wire ropes in parallel to each other, providing a size changing mechanism, and providing a double hoisting accessory to permit the suspended load to swing minutely.
