<p>It is intended to provide agents for preventing or ameliorating insulin resistance and/or obesity based on a novel concept and a method of screening the same. Based on a finding that GIP causes insulin resistance and obesity via a new mechanism, a new concept that compounds inhibiting the GIP funciton have an effect of ameliorating insulin resistance and an antiobestic effect is acquired. Namely, agents for preventing or ameliorating insulin resistance and/or obesity which contain as the active ingredient the compounds inhibiting the GIP function; and a method of screening agents for preventing or ameliorating insulin resistance and/or obesity characterized by selecting the compounds inhibiting the GIP function.</p> |
