The assembly to give a wet sieve screening action to suspensions (S) of paper fibers, to separate impurities, has a flat or conical sieve (3) in a housing (1) to allow usable paper fibers to pass through. The usable fibers are collected in at least two concentric chambers (7-9) of different radii at the outflow side of the sieve, where they are taken off (10-12) separately to control the flow speeds through the sieve openings. The sieve cleaner (6), at the inflow side of the sieve, has a number of scraper blades.
