PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically determine/change the amount of an Immediate Data buffer to be allocated depending on occasional states to improve the performance of an iSCSI equipment. SOLUTION: A preferential value is managed for individual hosts which can log in the network information recording device to perform the allocation of an Immediate Data buffer in accordance with the preferential value of the individual hosts. This preferential value is varied depending on the data transfer length or command importance. The preferential value is recalculated periodically or arbitrarily, and a log-in request is issued to the host again to execute log-in negotiation again, thereby dynamically changing the amount of a buffer to be allocated to construct the optimum buffer allocation state on each occasion.
