PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position specification system of an autonomous mobile body for performing a counting operation only when no obstacle is present between the autonomous mobile body and an ultrasonic indicator. SOLUTION: An infrared signal is transmitted from the autonomous mobile body 1 to the ultrasonic indicator 2A. The ultrasonic indicator 2A which receives the infrared signal transmits the infrared signal and an ultrasonic signal to the autonomous mobile body 1. The autonomous mobile body which receives the infrared signal transmitted from the indicator 2A starts the counting operation of a timer 22, ends the counting operation of the timer when it receives the ultrasonic signal transmitted from the indicator, and specifies the position of the autonomous mobile body 1 to the indicator 2A based on the count value of the timer.
