PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female terminal which can improve contact reliability by securing numerous contacts even when a male tab is vibrated. SOLUTION: When a pair of pinching plates 21, 22 installed at a pinching member 20 pinch a belt shaped male tab 30 along the thickness direction, rear side protrusions 24c, 24d and front side protrusions 24a, 24b contact with the male tab 30. At this time, because the rear side gap size Db is set larger than front side gap size Da, a stable contact can be obtained. Furthermore, since respective rear side protrusions 24c, 24d and respective front side protrusions 24a, 24b are arranged at the position where they do not face each other, at least two points or more of contact can be secured, and the stable contact can be obtained even if the male tab 30 is inserted in a state of being shifted.
