PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide terminal equipment for CATV (Cable-Television) having a signal distribution means controlled so that communication by a broadcasting signal receiver is preferentially established out of devices connected to a bidirectional telecommunication apparatus, where, the broadcasting signal receiver and the bidirectional communication apparatus are connected to a CATV transmission line, and the broadcasting signal receiver is connected to the bidirectional communication apparatus through a connection line transmitting a digital signal, and bidirectional communication is available between a CATV network and an outside field even from devices connected to the bidirectional communication apparatus, and from the broadcasting signal receiver. SOLUTION: The terminal equipment for CATV is provided with a cable modem having a function of recognizing the MAC (Medium Access Control) address of the device connected to each terminal of a switching hub and storing the related information and a function of controlling the number of terminals communicable with the switching hub, and the like based on communication approval information transmitted from a CATV center station.
