<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dried beef not perfect as a preserved food, made as easy to be eaten, while making the most of original value of the dried beef as a the preserved food, and also capable of being taken by a physically weak person by solving a problem such that since a conventional dried beef has a meaning as the preserved food too much, it is natural to be tough and it can not be taken by everybody, irrespective of young and old, men and women, and especially in many cases, it can not be taken by an elderly person, a person having weak teeth and a person having a trouble in oral cavity. <P>SOLUTION: This pressed and dried beef is produced by passing the dried beef between rollers of which surfaces are treated to have unevenness, made of a stainless steel and built in a dried beef-pressing machine.
