PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust the clearance between a sewing needle and a hook if the thickness of the sewing needle to be used is changed, and to simplify the clearance adjusting mechanism. SOLUTION: A needle receiving plate 20 is attached to a coupling member 5 by a fixing screw 23 in such a way that the position can be adjusted forward/backward via a slender slot 20b in the front/rear direction formed on a fixing part 20a integrally formed with the needle receiving plate 20. The needle receiving plate 20 is inserted into a notched hole 13a formed on a loop pressor plate 13 from behind and is located in a needle advancing clearance S. The position of the needle receiving plate 20 can be adjusted through the slot 20b according to the diameter of the sewing needle 3 for sewing by loosening the fixing screw 23.
