An apparatus and a method for measuring optical properties of an LED are provided to simplify the measurement of the optical properties by computerizing spectrums corresponding to light having at least two colors. An apparatus of measuring optical properties of an LED(Light Emitting Diode) comprises the step of emitting light of the LED by applying power to a LED package(40) having at least two color LEDs. Spectrum of light having at least two colors is obtained through a spectroscope(10) and then transmitted to a computer. At least one optical property of maximum wavelength, main wavelength, luminosity, intensity radiation, color temperature, color rendering index, brightness and color coordinates for the transmitted spectrum of light is calculated.
