<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swab shank that is easily insertable when collecting a specimen through a narrow space, for example, when being inserted from a nostril having a narrow inlet, capable of readily collecting a specimen existing in a deep portion inside nasal cavity. <P>SOLUTION: This swab shank has a shank part formed of a flexible material, and a cotton ball forming part capable of forming a cotton ball on the tip part of the shank part. The shank part has a gripping part, and a middle shank part, having a diameter smaller than that of the gripping part and is elongated from the gripping part in the axial direction, and a swelling part having a diameter smaller than that of the gripping part and is larger than that of the middle shank part is formed in the radial direction of the tip part of the middle shank part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
