摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide surface light source device capable of reducing generation of brightness unevenness in the case a plurality of light-emitting units are used as the primary light source, and a gap is installed between neighboring light-emitting units. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source device 10 includes the primary light source 4, and a light guide plate 1 in which the primary light source 4 is arranged on an incident end face 8 that is a side face, and which emits light emitted from the primary light source 4 from an emitting face 6. The primary light source 4 is constituted of a plurality of light-emitting units 4a to 4d linearly arranged. In the plurality of light-emitting units 4a to 4d, a length between its both ends is longer than the length of a width direction of an incident end face 8 in a state of being arranged on the incident end face 8 of the light guide plate 1. Moreover, distance between light-emitting parts of the neighboring light-emitting units 4a to 4d is 1 mm or more and 5 mm or less.
