<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dial for timepieces with a simple configuration and provided with a temperature display function. <P>SOLUTION: The dial 7 for timepieces includes temperature display parts 19, and the temperature display part 19 includes a lower substrate 13 and an upper substrate 15 opposed to each other and a liquid crystal 16 in which a cholesteric liquid crystal containing a chiral material is arranged between the lower substrate 13 and the upper substrate 15. The surface of the dial 7 includes numbers 6 for indicating time, and the peripheries of the numbers 6 include the temperature display parts 19. The dial 7 for timepieces includes a display part 17 for conversion when not worn and a display part 18 for conversion when worn which indicate the relationship between the color of the liquid crystal 16 and the temperature of the liquid crystal 16. The display part 17 for conversion when not worn displays the relationship when a timepiece is not worn, and the display part 18 for conversion when worn displays the relation when the timepiece is worn. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
