A composition for the diagnosis of diseases relating to amyloid which con tains either a compound represented by the general formula (I): [wherein X r epresents O, etc.; R1, R3, R4, R5, R6, R8, and R9 each represents hydrogen, etc.; R2 represents halogeno, etc.; and R7 represents dimethylamino, etc.] o r a compound obtained by labeling that compound with a radionuclide or conta ins a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of any of these compounds. The compou nd represented by the general formula (I) has high bonding specificity for a myloid ß-protein, is apt to highly pass through the blood-brain barrier, and has the property of rapidly disappearing from the areas excluding senile pl aques in the brain.
