The invention relates to a control device for a phacoemulsification system, wherein the control device is configured to supply electrical energy to an actuator for a phaco needle during a plurality of time intervals, the time intervals comprising: a first time interval, in which electrical energy is supplied for pulses which have a constant maximum amplitude, a second time interval following the first time interval, with electrical energy with a magnitude equal to zero being supplied during the second time interval, a third time interval following the second time interval, the third time interval having a first time duration during which electrical energy is supplied for pulses which have a lower constant amplitude than the maximum amplitude during the first time interval, with the first time duration being followed by a second time duration during which there are pulses with an amplitude which reaches a constant magnitude with a level of more than 0% and less than 10% of the maximum amplitude, with the first time duration of the third time interval being shorter than the first time interval. |
