PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave heating device capable of efficiently and uniformly heating a heating target object.SOLUTION: Microwave heating apparatuses 100, 200, 300 include a waveguide 1, paired short-circuit plates 3a, 3b, a microwave generation unit 5, and a transformer 7. A first opening O1 is provided at a predetermined position of a wall W 1 forming the hollow structure of the waveguide 1. The paired short-circuiting plates 3a, 3b are movable in the length direction L of the waveguide 1 inside the hollow structure of the waveguide 1 in a state where the paired short-circuiting plates are separated from each other by only an opposing distance l. A microwave generator 5 is secured at a position corresponding to the first opening portion O1 of the wall W 1 of the waveguide 1. The microwave generator 5 introduces microwaves from the first opening portion O1 into a standing wave space S formed by the paired short-circuit plates 3a, 3b inside the hollow structure of the waveguide 1.
