<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability in searching a content displayed on a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: An air conditioner operating unit AU (a liquid crystal display device for an automobile) comprises an operating part 10 having a dial operating part; the liquid crystal display 20; LED backlights 31-33 (backlight light sources) having a plurality of LEDs 31a-31d, 32a-32d, 33a-33d; a control part 41 (a lighting control means); an LCD driver 42; and LED backlight circuit parts 43-45. The control part 41 controls lighting of the LED backlights 31-33 so that brightness of a display region (an operating content display region) for an air-conditioning mode display (a content display) of a current air-conditioning mode (content) in the liquid crystal display 20 differs from brightness of a display region (a non-operating content display region) for an air-conditioning mode display of the air-conditioning mode not in use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
